“We come from the water, livin' in the water. Go back to the water” – Harry Belafonte, Turn The World Around
I employ a less common and somehow unconventional technique when photographing in urban settings with people. Whilst there is a "street photography" approach to most of my photographs, the background and environment are predominantly focused on the sea, the beach, ports and similar settings. In fact, I almost take it as an extension of my landscape photography.

My photographs are less stylized and more open to interpretation, mainly depicting people in moments when they interact with their surroundings and the sea in particular. I view them as individual's stories that come closer to the water, allowing them to transcend their reality for a brief moment.

Over the years, I have come to realize that there are many similarities between my urban and underwater photography endeavors. In both cases, the sea and people are at the core of my photographs, and the physical connection we all have to water has a multitude of stories to tell.
